50km east of Bordeaux, Manegat a beautiful 18th
century house standing on the banks of the Dordogne offers you bed &
breakfast. This is a wine growing country, surrounded by gentle hills
and scattered medieval villages. Saint
Emilion, is about 10km away. Here you can wander the cobbled streets
and take the opportunity to visit one of the famous producers whose
wines have earned the ultimate accolade of Premier Grand Cru Classé.
The comfortable guest bedrooms
were recently renovated and have pretty views of the large garden.
They have en suite facilities and are attractively furnished with antique
furnitures and king size beds. The kitchen / dining room common to the three bedrooms, may be used for EUR 10.- per day.
The kitchen is fully equipped with tea coffee making
facilities, fridge, microwaves, cooker and a washing machine (may be
used once a week). If the weather is good there is a table outside for
having breakfast or 'al fresco' dining and when it gets too hot there
is an outdoor pool for you to cool down.

When you want to relax, leave your car behind and take a walk along the riverbank. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of the area and remember to take your binoculars as there are plenty of birds to see. If you want something a little more energetic then you can hire bikes in Castillon la Bataille. Nearby you will also find 2 golf courses, tennis courts and a large lake where you can bath or picnic. Good restaurants can be found in Castillon la Bataille and Saint Emilion.
